GUYS!! Between Seyi Vibez and Asake – Who Do You Think Has More Street Credibility?

Street-Pop music/artiste is primarily driven by the documentation of both personal and how popular the artiste and his music is on the street.

Over the past few month, there is no doubt that Asake has almost monopolized the Nigerian music sphere and clearly, the street remains openly wide enough for a large number of people to rule simultaneously.

Considering the release of their recent projects – The audience might be seen a bit similar but in the heart of listeners, there seem to be a street king.

 

Seyi Vibez is not a newcomer as he has dazzled listeners with his EP ‘Billion Dollar Baby‘ which showcased his credentials as one of the best talents Nigeria’s street-pop has to offer.

The “Never say never” spirit of Seyi Vibez have always been a major factor to his consistence and creative outcome. He has been seen as the major and direct competition to Asake for the crown of the street king. – This remains unsettled for now.

He was able to find a fine balance between core street sonics and mainstream elements with none overriding the other. Topically, the album touches on his struggles, his success, and his yearning for love while carrying an underlining theme of his “you know what”

Through “Mr Money With The Vibez“, Asake effortlessly secures “the end of the year” shows and concerts. He has also, perhaps, secured his legacy as one of the outstanding hitmakers in the Nigerian music industry.

As if to remind us that his heart is in the streets, Asake elides syllables as he sings English words with a Yoruba accent. Even though his music is rooted in Yoruba culture, there is a multiplicity and duality to everything on his debut album, “Mr Money With The Vibe“.

Some tracks might seem similar in style, topic or approach, but no track repeats the same topic in totality as the street continues to devour the songs with utmost satisfaction. Asake‘s popularity in the space of a year across the globe is nothing we’ve seen in recent times for a new artiste.

While they have both been making music professionally for years now and Seyi Vibez might have even achieved some fame before Asake because he has been in limelight before him but Asake’s album puts him on the same category with him.

However, regardless of the level of acceptance and reception that Asake currently has, Seyi VibeZ games dominance and street credibility continues to increase.
