Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden dropped as Nigerian descent Bukayo Saka gets England call-ups for this month’s international football calendar.
The 19-year-old Arsenal forward has been in a tug of war between Nigeria and England with NFF try to persuade him to play for the Super Eagles.
Saka has featured just three times for Arsenal during this campaign but broke into the first-team and impressed while playing at full-back for the Gunners last season, while Manchester United ace Greenwood and Manchester City’s Foden have been dropped following their misdemeanors and breaking of COVID-bubble rules in an Icelandic hotel.
England have three matches in this international break, starting with a friendly against Wales at Wembley on October 8.
Southgate’s side then face Belgium on October 11 and Denmark on October 14 at Wembley in the UEFA Nations League.
